  • The Gradual Divorce of Factual Surfaces

    In Collaboration with Vivyan Yeo

    5 pc * 8*10inch

    Oil-painted Silver Gelatin Prints

    2017

In a gradual factual divorce of the truth of the photograph and that of the site, Vivyan and Dave produced this series as an experiment in process. In this spontaneous production of the process, semi-true objects of incidental and accidental nostalgia were created.

    ----

V: You don’t say it’s fake nostalgia… but in some way it is. People might think it’s nostalgic, but I’ve never been to these places, but somehow they still mean something to me?

D: There’s something sort of meta about that-

V: But you can’t say it-

D: Yeah you can only sort of express it…… I guess that’s the artist statement right?
